Quarantined

Well this is not how I wanted to spend the first week of winter break! Kaylee brought us a nice virus home from school, which later turned into sinus infections. I told Dustin that he should go with Kaylee and I to the doc to get some antibiotics but he was stubborn. He finally broke down and went and found out he had pneumonia (here comes the "I told you so"). So we've all had intense coughing, sore throats. headaches, and fever. They only let you take the weak stuff during pregnancy, I really want some real drugs. The newest thing I tried was the Neti Pot; basically you pour a tea kettle of salt water up your nose to wash out the goop for temporary relief. Baby Beavis has created a new embarrassing problem with all the coughing. Thus, I have seriously considered making Depends a staple of my maternity wardrobe. I've included a pic of all the meds we were on for my friend Allison's sake. She loves pointless illustrations in a blog!

12 week ultrasound

I went yesterday for my 12 week ultrasound. The baby was not very active at first but then he started moving all around and "waving" at Kaylee. She was more interested in the goo on my belly. Even though I had been though this all before, it still amazed me. He was moving his baldy head up and down. If you look closely at the pic, he looks like Beavis. You'll notice I'm referring to the shrimp size offspring as he. I have a feeling it's a boy. Although, I'm terrified of having a boy.

Morning sickness (which is the dumbest term ever given that it's ALL DAY) has gotten worse before it gets better. It seems the only thing I can stomach is Jersey Mikes (go figure). I shouldn't complain. we're truly blessed! A special thanks for D for not complaining once about the messy house, dirty laundry, and lack of dinner each night. He's an gem for picking up the slack! Santa, if your reading, all I want for Christmas is some energy (and some clothes that fit would be nice too)!

Christmas Classics: According to Kaylee

We're definitely getting into the Christmas spirit. Kaylee loves listening to holiday tunes as much as I do. However, she likes to put her own spin on things.

Jingle Bells: Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way. Oh what fun it is today in a one horse open sleigh

Deck the Halls: Deck the halls with thousand hollies... fa lala la la, la la la la

Away in a Manger: The stars in the sky, look down where he lay. The little Lord Jesus asleep on his head.

Carol of the Bells: Hark to the bells, and all the bells, jing jing a dong, born is the king

Winter Wonderland: Walkin' in a window wonderland!
